Glorious 12th marks Northern debut of Bridget Lansley’s “Shooting Collection” at Liquid Amber
12 August 2010

August 12th, also known to the shooting connoisseur as the glorious 12th marks the start of the shooting season for Red Grouse, an increasingly popular sport across the UK, particularly in North Yorkshire. The moorland of the area is ideal for wild grouse to breed and there are dozens of good shoots within easy reach of the famous market town of Helmsley.

For those looking for luxury hotel accommodation in the area, the Feversham Arms at Helmsley is the perfect choice for both male and female guests who wish to participate in shooting parties or relax in the hotel’s wonderful Verbena Spa. Shooting is traditionally very much a male past time, but is increasingly enjoyed by women and there are more mixed gender shoots and guns are often accompanied by wives and partners.

Of interest to hotel guests and to coincide with the start of the shooting season, the hotel’s Liquid Amber art gallery will be showcasing paintings from acclaimed artist Bridget Lansley’s “Shooting Collection”.

A beautiful selection of paintings depicting scenes from a grouse shoot, this will be Bridget’s first showcase in the North of England.

Her love of colour, brush strokes and texture give her paintings a strong yet soft focus. She paints at her home in Ham, Surrey and has enjoyed success in Europe with exhibitions at many prestigious galleries in London and the Home Counties.

Jill Rhatigan, owner of the Feversham commented, “We are over the moon that Bridget has chosen to exhibit her latest collection at Liquid Amber especially as she has never exhibited in the North of England. We are particularly excited as North Yorkshire is renowned for it’s grouse shooting and Bridget’s paintings will be very popular with both art lovers and shoot enthusiasts alike”.

Prices range from £750 to £2900 and there are 2 pastels and 3 oils for sale in the collection.

Each original painting will come with a certificate of authenticity and delivery can be arranged by DHL courier service, fully insured and delivered anywhere in the UK
