13 October 2009
The Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa are delighted to announce the launch of Parisian beauty experts, Anne Semonin as their new 'Haute Couture' beauty brand on the 13th October 2009.
|
|

|
|
|
| |
 |
|
| |
Following a £1.2 million investment, the Verbena Spa opened at the Feversham Arms Hotel in October 2008 and has enjoyed an extremely successful first year, which is continuing with the launch of the new luxury product house, Anne Semonin.
Reflecting the country chic ambiance of the Feversham Arms Hotel, the Verbena Spa offers a relaxed spa experience with a cosy, rather than clinical, atmosphere. Complimentary iced tea, book reading and relaxation areas, spa-tisserie and spa-tapas are some of the touches that make this spa truly special. Guests can enjoy the South-facing spa garden before relaxing in the Outdoor Hot Tub. The spa has 7 treatment rooms, including a Double Treatment Room, a Salt Vapour Room, Aromatherapy Room, Ice Cave, Monsoon Feature Shower, Saunarium, Outdoor Hot Tub and Outdoor Heated Pool.
Founded in 1986 by Madame Anne Semonin, the brand has developed a series of treatments representing a personal holistic approach to beauty. Anne Semonin products use only natural ingredients at their maximum concentrations and are designed to be combined in a way that enables every client to find their own personal beauty prescription, according to the needs of their skin and lifestyle.
Lisa Batty, Spa Manager at the Verbena Spa commented "Making sure we have the correct range and quality of treatments for our guests has always been key to the development of the Verbena Spa. Working with Anne Semonin has allowed us to design a range of luxury treatments that are completely bespoke to each guest. This puts the onus on the relationship between the therapist and the guest, something that is becoming increasingly important as spa goers invest in results driven treatments."
Bringing the full range of Parisian spa treatments and beauty products to Yorkshire for the first time, Anne Semonin has designed a bespoke spa menu for their Northern flagship, the Verbena Spa, including a number of new exclusive signature treatments, such as the 'Verbena Black Sand Exfoliation Experience Massage', 'Bubbling Mud for Boys', and the 'Royal Miracle Ice Facial'.
Anne Semonin's famous attention to detail can also be seen in new touches such as the deliciously refreshing Verbena sorbet served at the end of the guests' Spa treatments.
In accordance with the new partnership and to celebrate the first anniversary of the Verbena Spa, Anne Semonin will be exclusively launching the 'Express Radiance Ice Cubes for the Eyes' at the Verbena Spa on the 13th October. These are part of a new generation of cosmetics known as neurocosmetics, which calm the skin's nerve endings and restore the skins natural balance, ensuring that the skin is moisturised, cooled and tightened increasing radiance and enhancing long lasting make up wear.
Owner of the Feversham Arms and Verbena Spa, Simon Rhatigan commented "Increasingly, sophisticated spa consumers require results-driven skincare, individualised to their own needs - and it's this that is at the heart of our partnership with Anne Semonin. As well as designing some unique treatments to expand the range of spa experiences we offer, the ability to make skincare products for each guest is something that I know our guests are going to love."

Perception Sales and Marketing Celebrates the Treble
Cheshire based Hotel Consultancy, Perception Sales & Marketing are celebrating this week after two of their valued clients won ‘Hotel of the Year’ at the AA Hospitality Awards in London, coinciding with the company’s 5th birthday.
Attended by over 700 guests, including many of the top UK chefs and prominent hoteliers, the AA Hospitality Awards recognises and rewards the excellent services provided by the UK’s very best establishments, and honours the finest AA-inspected and rated hotels, restaurants and pubs throughout the UK.
Held at the Hilton, Park Lane, London, the AA Hotel of the Year Award for Scotland was presented to The Gleneagles Hotel and the Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa located in North Yorkshire received the Hotel of the Year for England.
Perception has provided The Gleneagles Hotel with sales representation services since July 2007 and the Perception team are delighted with the achievement for both hotels.
Cath Couzens, Director of Perception commented, “We are extremely proud of the hotels we represent and genuinely believe that we work with some of the best independent hotels and hidden gems within the UK and internationally. To have this officially endorsed with two of the hotels on the Perception portfolio being awarded ‘Hotel of the Year 2009/10’ formally confirms our beliefs. These two awards coincide with Perception’s 5th birthday, so it’s a treble celebration for the Perception team and we are thrilled for all involved”.
The Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa appointed Perception to co-ordinate the launch of the Verbena Spa in June 2007 and earlier this year increased this contract to include PR for the entire hotel. The hotel is also a finalist of the Welcome to Yorkshire ‘White Rose Awards for Tourism 2009’ to be held on 19th October.
This month sees Perception celebrate their 5th Birthday and due to recent contract wins including Kenzi Hotel Group, Morocco and The Heritage Golf & Spa Resort, Ireland, the company has appointed 3 new full time members of staff and extended their office space in Cheadle Hulme.
To celebrate their 5th Birthday the Perception team are hitting the road and hosting dinners and events in five different cities across the UK during October to thank clients for their continued support over the last five years.

Environmental Activity at Gleneagles
22 February 2008
'Responsible tourism' is high on the agenda at Gleneagles. The team at Scotland’s leading AA Five Star resort fully understand the importance of caring for the environment.
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
 |
|
| |
From the late 1990’s environmental performance has been high on the agenda throughout the resort, culminating in the hotel winning the pan European Award for Environmental Excellence in 2001 – recognition of the good practice carried out throughout the estate. Gleneagles also holds a Gold Award from VisitScotland’s Green Tourism Business Scheme, which recognises excellence in Environmental Management with significant good practice and established systems. The journey has continued, with one of the main focus’s now being aimed at the resort being carbon neutral by 2010.
The hotel will continue to take steps to minimise any detrimental impacts on the environment caused by the operation of the hotel, golf courses and estate. This will be achieved by ensuring the responsible use of energy, water and materials, in line with the environmental policy.
Current environmental initiatives include
The team at Gleneagles views this aspect of the business as a ‘journey’, during which they will create and evolve initiatives designed to help care for the special environment, in which they are privileged to work.
• Biomass boiler – launched Sept 2007, a 1250KW Woodchip Fired Heating System has been installed. This provides heating and domestic hot water to hotel, accounting for approximately 85% of the total heat demand. Converting from an oil-fired boiler will reduce the CO2 emissions by 2000 tonnes every year.
• Working closely with Perthshire Big Tree Country, Gleneagles will launch an initiative to protect and sustain the beautiful countryside that provides such a breathtaking location for the hotel. From 2008 guests will have the opportunity to donate a voluntary £1 supplement, per room per night, to be donated to re-planting and rebuilding Perthshire’s natural woodlands.
• Children too are being encouraged to care for their environment. Activities include – a weekly woodland walk, hosted by one of the hotel’s rangers, which introduces the youngsters to the basics of the countryside code; in the playroom, they learn about recycling by trying their hand at junk modelling; or for the more curious among them, bug hunting in the Laich loch!
The specially appointed environmental team at the resort considers all areas of the business from recycling glass, to reducing energy consumption by installing movement detectors on bedroom corridors. During redevelopment, trees are replanted, resulting in a fantastic natural environment for red squirrels and bats, experienced by guests on the woodland walk.
This ambitious programme represents a substantial monetary investment, with the true investment being placed on the future, ensuring generations can continue to enjoy the Scottish environment.
Gleneagles has an unrivalled reputation built on heritage. A reputation that is being jealously guarded and cared for, for generations to come.
