People often ask us what kind of hotel The Feversham Arms is - and in a way it's a difficult question to answer. It's not a country house hotel - we're not nostalgic or backward looking, despite the fact that we've been welcoming guests here for around a century and a half. Equally, we are not a designer hotel where looks come before comfort. It's a place at ease with itself, where elements of our past and present mingle. Here, Mouseman furniture sits easily next to Julia Burns contemporary paintings. It's a comfortable, eclectic place.

Prior to buying The Feversham Arms in late 2003, Simon was Managing Director of Tom's Companies - owners of Seaham Hall Hotel and Serenity Spa in County Durham, The Samling in the Lake District and the Fisherman's Lodge and Treacle Moon restaurants in Newcastle. During his time there, he oversaw the openings of Seaham Hall and the spa and won the prestigious AA Hotel of the Year 2003.
Simon also spent five busy years as General Manager of Blanc Restaurants Ltd, responsible for running Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons and developing the Le Petit Blanc chain of brasseries. During his time at Le Manoir, he oversaw the redevelopment the hotel, adding a new ecole de cuisine, new bedrooms, kitchens and private dining operations.

From the moment you walk across the threshold, The Feversham promises stylish relaxation, the perfect hideaway hotel! Deep sofas in subtly lit lounges invite guests to sink in mellow comfort before open log fires. Each of
the 27 bedrooms has its own character and country-chic décor, including Bang & Olufsen TV with integral DVD/CD. Rooms have a DVD/CD library; every bathroom pampers you with lovely toiletries and big,
soft bathrobes.
The recently completed Poolside & Garden Suites are simply breath taking. Each individual suite has a bedroom with a large inviting bed, a stunning bathroom with walk-in showers, a double-ended bath and a comforting and spacious separate sitting room. Some of the suites have wood-burning stoves, whilst all have air-conditioning. With the majority of the suites having direct access to the pool garden and offering guests their own private sitting areas, we anticipate you are going to fall in love with these beautiful rooms.
Our food is deeply rooted in the national park that surrounds the hotel, with the emphasis on game, lamb
and seafood from nearby Whitby - all complimented by a wine list of more than 200 bins. The hotel has a strong following of guests who enjoy a variety of country pursuits, but many come simply to relax and escape reality - some in fact, never leave their rooms (don't ask!). Some prefer to be rejuvenated with one of the many health and beauty treatments available to enjoy in the privacy of your own room. Choose from La Stone Therapy, Aromatherapy Massages, Reflexology, an Indian Head Massage or Decleor Aromaplastie Facial. All are as beneficial to men as they are to women. Others make the most of the pool, and explore the myriad of interesting shops and sights on offer within a short drive.
At the Feversham we give you time and space to think and relax. Spaces to motivate and inspire - where comfort, service, technology and design combine to meet your professional and personal needs - while discreet service and gourmet food keep you going through the day. For those who enjoy the outdoor life, we have a range of packages suitable for groups of up to 25 guests that take place in the grounds of Duncombe Park, including shooting, archery and sheep dog handling.
Our meeting room is ideal for boardroom meetings of up to 20 people, but will accommodate up to 24 around one table or up to 35 for a theatre-style presentation. The room is on the ground floor of the hotel with lots of natural light and French doors linking to a South-facing garden. There are dimmable lights and blackout curtains. AV equipment is also available.
Of course, you may like to have the whole place to yourselves - and you can do just that by taking our exclusive use package. Let the Feversham Arms become your own private playground for you and your colleagues for 24 hours or more. Enjoy use of all the bedrooms, delight in the choices on the menu, eat more snacks and soft drinks than is respectable, indulge in oodles of house Champagne and wine, chosen from our exclusive-use list.
